Paul, this is quite possibly one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. If it came out last year, it would have topped my list as movie of the decade by FAR

I agree with jason. These hollywood douchebags are so pompous and arrogant. My guess is that they read an editorial from the New York Times and are pressured by the overtly gay culture of hollywood into mindless liberals. The worst part is that they think they are revolutionaries but they are merely following the herd. The TRUE free thinkers in hollywood aren't the people like Sean Penn or George Clooney but the underground conservatives. Kind of sad that in such a "progressive" environment only one side can express themselves freely.

C'mon, hearing Chan tell a young kid to "jacket on, jacket off" has to be worth something?

I simply hate the politics if Hollywood. They all discover their inner Gahndi after they make 20 million per picture and get their estates in Malibu. Hollywood liberals forget that before a woman's right to choose or gay rights, the cornerstone of liberal philosophy is the redistribution of wealth. I defy anyone to tell me that Hollywood or any of the entertainment industry epitomises the redistribution of wealth, far from it.

*applauds* Thank you Paul... Someone who agrees with me. I don't even want to see the movie because I hate it when I know what exactly is going to happen... Same over-used plot with 2/3 of the budget going to CG... LAME! Whatever happened to originality? To characters we actually care about... Story that makes you rethink some morals or opinions? GONE!

I did like it's unconventional story arc (as you say, you don't see the turn coming). And, your very intelligent review did raise my evaluation of it.

But, still, when it was over, I kinda wondered why anyone bothered to tell this story. I didn't learn anything about life which I did not know before.

Thank you. Good job.

I've never been able to watch Sandra Bullock. But, we may drift away some evening soon and go see this. Thank you for a very intelligent review.

I think the reason we do that is arrogance. We have to let someone know that we know more than they do.

Thanks for a new word: "gerund." Since I make my living with words, you would think I'd know that. But, I didn't.
